Location: Ontario
Wage: $32.00/hr
Description: The ideal candidate will be a Certified and Accredited Lab Technician with asphalt Cement Testing experience for the parameters of road paving QA/QC.
Shift: Depending on the lab's operational hours, you may work regular daytime shifts or have a flexible schedule to accommodate testing requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Monitor the quality of road materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt) and observe
the application according to the requirements of the plans and required HIR
specifications.
- Perform tests in the field and in the laboratory on asphalt road materials to assess their
quality.
- Prepare samples for appropriate tests.
- Ensure accuracy of test data.
- Write technical memos and site visit reports daily.
- Maintain equipment and laboratory to ensure all tools are in good condition.
- Knowledge of ASTM/CCIL/MTO testing procedure.
- Asphalt sampling (loose mix and core samples).
- Driving a CVOR Ford 550 rated for 11 000 kg with mounted hydraulic core rig and
compactor.
- Enforce safety standards in line with the company policy and Ontario government
regulations; maintain cleanliness and order in all controlled areas and report all
accidents to the supervisor.
- When coring, ensure that the process does not damage any personal or public property.
- Notify the shop supervisor immediately if quality deficiencies are being encountered on
the jobsite.
- Other duties may be required to fulfill the requirements of the position.

Qualifications:

- CSA/CCIL Certification for Asphalt Concrete is an asset (candidates will be given first
consideration)
- Attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude.
- College diploma in Civil Engineering (an asset).
- Valid driver’s license and a vehicle.
