Description: The Heavy Equipment Hydraulic Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing hydraulic systems in various heavy machinery, such as construction equipment, excavators, bulldozers, and loaders. They diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and replace or repair faulty hydraulic components to ensure optimal functionality and safety. Effective communication skills and a strong understanding of hydraulic principles are essential for success in this role.
Shift: Full-time position, expected to work in all the seasons

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Primary requirement is to be the Mechanical-Project Engineering for the existing system and upgrade and redesign an advanced HIR recycled paving system.
- Primary Duty is to provide technical support in troubleshooting & repair of existing hydraulic equipment to minimize machine downtime.
- Reduction of complexity & design improvements to our existing drawings & equipment.
- Design engineering, full manufacturing, assembly, and test operations on-site. This is an opportunity to perform engineering functions, occasionally commission and test systems. (This is custom road paving equipment).
- Candidates will learn how to run each custom paving machine and will be on the job site as part of the crew for maintenance or repairs if needed.
- Candidates must be able to travel during open paving season and will be working in winters, Ontario shops to repair, maintain and do any upgrades to equipment, as directed.
- In this full-time position the 1st year candidate is with RSR they will be learning about the
custom equipment, but experience is a must with hydraulics!

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design and/or Industrial Engineering a plus.
- Advanced degree or accredited studies in a Maintenance Engineering program
preferred.
- Minimum BSME (MSME preferred) with mechanical product machine design, structural
design and analysis experience applied in the design and detailing of hydraulically
operated machinery and mechanical equipment and assemblies is a plus.
- Thorough experience-based knowledge of AutoCAD.
- On the job experiences will be considered for the position in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Experience
- Strong working knowledge of the Asphalt Paving Field a plus!
- Must have experience in an industrial and/or road construction setting utilizing
mechanical or industrial engineering principles, preferably in new equipment and design.
- Understand specifications of industrial and/or mobile hydraulic systems, circuits, and
components, use of advanced materials and structural composites in mechanical
equipment.
- Hydraulics specialist mechanic who has experience working with heavy equipment,
would be a plus.
- Candidates that have worked in the paving industry or have experience with hydraulic
repairs, hydraulic hose repairs, fluid power experience, aircraft hydraulic experience,
hydraulic pneumatic systems.

- Must have hands on work style and be capable of motivating/teaching others, we are a
team.
- Will be required to obtain a working knowledge of equipment being operated during
employment.
- Will work closely with Senior Management.
- Ability to efficiently work with others on collaborative engineering work, as well as to
work independently.
- Must be respectful & professional in dealing with suppliers, vendors, residents, and
colleagues.
- Must possess a valid driver license and safe driving record.
- Must be willing to maintain all health & safety requirements to maintain a safe
environment for self and colleagues,
- Must provide or attend Health & Safety Awareness & WHMIS training. Any certifications
should be provided with a resume in the application process.
- Must be located in Ontario Canada - No relocation of potential candidates will be
considered.
