Technical support specialist-Information technology (IT)
HR Strategy's client - ArrayLocation: Alberta
Wage: $29.35/hr
Description: An IT specialist diagnoses and resolves user technical issues across hardware, software, and networks. They document support interactions thoroughly, escalating complex problems when needed. They aid in software and hardware setup, ensuring proper installation and updates. Routine system maintenance and clear communication of technical
information to non-technical users are also part of their responsibilities.
Shift: Full-time position

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing and resolving technical problems faced by users, whether they're related to ardware, software, network, or other IT systems.
- Keeping detailed records of each support interaction, including the problem description, troubleshooting steps taken, and the final resolution
- Identifying and escalating complex or unresolved issues to higher-level technical teams or management when necessary.
- Assisting users in installing, configuring, and updating software applications, operating systems, and hardware components.
- Monitoring and performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of IT systems and networks.
- Communicating technical information in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical users, avoiding jargon or complex terms.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5-7 years experience in the IT field. Prior IT management experience is not required but managing a small team (1-5 people) would be an asset.
- Knowledge and experience with the following:
- Network Administration
- Physical and Virtual Servers
- Cloud Infrastructure (Azure SQL Managed Instance)
- Business Intelligence programs (preferably, Power BI)
- Cyber Security
- The ability to understand the business’s strategic vision and translate them into department strategies and processes.
- Strong ability to lead and manage many projects, and timelines, while working with all departments in the organization.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders; skilled at managing stakeholder expectations.
- Experience in budget management is necessary.
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in providing end-user training.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bilingual skills (English/French) would be considered an asset but is not required
